CASTLE RESORTS & HOTELS APPOINTS KEY MANAGEMENT POSITIONS FOR CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS

Honolulu, Hawaii -- Castle Resorts & Hotels recently announced three key management appointments that strategically position Castle Resorts & Hotels for the future. 

Jeff CaminosJeff Caminos was promoted from director of operations to vice president of operations.  Caminos is responsible for overseeing all hotel operations in Hawaii and Micronesia to include development, growth and the engineering of the total guest experience and customer satisfaction.  Caminos brings over 27 years of hotel and condominium association management to his position.  He joined Castle in 2003 as general manager of Castle’s Kamaole Sands on Maui.  Castle Resorts’ corporate office took notice of his achievements and promoted him to director of operations for the Hawaii and Micronesia division.  After excelling in this position for just over one year, he was promoted to vice president of operations. 

Prior to Castle, Caminos held various general manager positions throughout Hawaii including Worldmark by Trendwest Resorts, Aston Hotels & Resorts, Sheraton Hotels and Colony Resorts & Hotels.  He also held executive positions at Aston International in Jakarta.

Joan Robinson WhitakerJoan Robinson-Whitaker, ASID, IIDA was recently appointed to a newly created position, director of hospitality design.  She is tasked with spearheading Caste Resorts & Hotels’ newest division, Castle Design Group, which offers full service professional design and provides a wide range of services from interior design to procurement.  Her mark in the hospitality arena can be seen in projects she worked on such as Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort, Radisson Prince Kuhio Hotel, J.W. Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa, and Pueblo of Sandia Casino & Hotel.  An award-winning designer, Robinson-Whitaker has been active throughout her 25-year career including being a co-founder of the Honolulu ASID Design Awards program and chairman of the Honolulu ASID.

Alma PennellAlma Pennell was recently appointed as Castle’s new reservations manager.  She oversees the daily operation of the Castle Resorts & Hotels Central Reservations Department and manages the call center which handles reservations for all Castle properties, 24 hours a day seven days a week.  She brings to Castle over 10 years of call center, reservations and travel experience including almost five years leading the reservations team at Cheap Tickets, Inc. in Honolulu.  Prior to that Pennell lived in Florida and worked for International Family Travel. 

Castle Resorts & Hotels manages hotels and condominiums on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai and the Big Island of Hawaii; on Saipan and Guam in Micronesia; and on New Zealand’s North Island.  Castle Resorts & Hotels is a subsidiary of The Castle Group, Inc. which was founded in 1994 with just 220 rooms. Today, Castle manages more than 2,500 hotel rooms and condominium units and employs more than 600 resort, hotel and corporate staff.
