CASTLE RESORTS & HOTELS PREPARES FOR GROWTH AND EXPANSION WITH REORGANIZATION, NEW POSTIONS AND PROMOTIONS

Honolulu, Hawaii - Castle Resorts & Hotels recently announced several new positions and promotions as part of a strategic reorganization to position the company for growth and expansion in emerging markets and in the destinations it currently serves (Hawaii, Micronesia and New Zealand).   

ALAN MATTSON, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER / PRESIDENT
Alan Mattson was recently promoted to chief operating officer/president for Castle Resorts & Hotels.  Mattson oversees all operations for the Hawaii, Micronesia and New Zealand divisions of Castle Resorts.  In his new role, he is also responsible for strategically growing the company including exploring emerging markets.  He joined Castle in September, 1999 as senior vice president of sales and marketing with over 20 years of senior level hospitality and travel industry experience.  Prior to Castle Resorts, Mattson was vice president of sales and marketing for Dollar Rent A Car; director of global marketing for Avis Car Rental, operating out of the Avis worldwide headquarters in New York; and held several senior level sales and marketing positions in the Hilton Hotels Corporation.

WILLIAM KOO, CHIEF MARKETING STRATEGIST
William Koo was appointed to the newly created position of chief marketing strategist for the management company’s 22 resorts and condominiums located throughout Hawaii, New Zealand and Micronesia.  Koo is responsible for leading the strategic planning and directing the sales, marketing and reservations efforts.   His responsibilities include revenue development, channel distribution and interactive marketing initiatives.  Koo joins Castle with an extensive background in hospitality sales and marketing. The past eight years William has been at ResortQuest Hawaii, where he held a variety of senior level positions most recently vice president of channel management and travel distribution.  Koo was recognized by Travel Agent Magazine as “Top 100 Rising Stars” in the hospitality industry in 2002.  

DONNA WHEELER, SENIOR DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Donna Wheeler was named senior director of marketing.  She is responsible for overseeing Castle’s brand marketing strategies and leading Castle’s advertising, promotions, events, direct and interactive marketing efforts.  Wheeler joins Castle with over 25 years of experience in the Hawaii lodging industry and was most recently assistant vice president of marketing at ResortQuest Hawaii.  Prior to discovering her passion in marketing, she was general manager of the Waikiki Beachside Hotel, Waikiki Joy Hotel and assistant manager of the Waikiki Beach Tower.  

LORI DYDASCO, SENIOR DIRECTOR OF RETAIL SALES
Lori Dydasco was promoted to senior director of retail sales for Hawaii and Micronesia.  She is a veteran in the hospitality industry with over 25 years of experience and has been with Castle for over eight years specializing in the military, government and corporate markets.  In her new role Dydasco will lead the retail sales team in Hawaii and Micronesia.  Dydasco joined Castle as director of sales at the Waikiki Terrace Hotel before joining the corporate sales team seven years ago.  Prior to Castle, she was part of the Outrigger Hotels & Resorts sales team for 10 years. 

RACQUEL HIDARO, RETAIL SALES MANAGER
Racquel Hidaro joins Castle’s sales team with over 10 years in the travel industry with extensive sales background in selling inter-island packages throughout Hawaii to retail travel agents and military bases.  As retail sales manager for Castle Resorts, she is responsible for the kamaaina, military and government markets.  Prior to Castle, Hidaro held several management positions at Roberts Hawaii, including call center supervisor, sales manager and inter-island specialist. 

MICHAEL OROZCO, INTERACTIVE MARKETING MANAGER
Michael Orozco joins Castle marketing team in the newly created position of interactive marketing manager.  He is responsible for leveraging online marketing channels and enhancing Castle’s brand position. He oversees Castle’s online marketing strategy and programs associated with all interactive marketing communication media.  Prior to Castle, Orozco was responsible for web content management and online media at ResortQuest Hawaii.   

Castle Resorts & Hotels manages hotels and condominiums on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai and the Big Island of Hawaii; on Saipan and Guam in Micronesia; and on New Zealand’s North Island.  Castle Resorts & Hotels is a subsidiary of The Castle Group, Inc. which was founded in 1994 with just 220 rooms. Today, Castle manages more than 2,700 hotel rooms and condominium units and employs more than 600 resort, hotel and corporate staff.
