Maui Shopping

The "jewel in the crown of Maui" Lahaina is the center for excitement on Maui. This historic fishing village is nestled between the waters of the Auau Channel and the rugged mountains of Mauna Kahalawai. Lahaina has welcomed visitors since its first Polynesian visitors came well over a thousand years ago. Back then, it was a place people came for freshwater streams, verdant valleys, and fertile soil. Today, people visit for the unique Maui restaurants, art galleries, shops, and nightlife. But not to worry, the historic integrity of this small town is well preserved. The folks who live there make sure of it.

Lahaina isn’t the only place you’ll find galleries and gift shops. Great Maui shopping can be found all over the island. Kihei has a long stretch of specialty shops and strip malls, so if you’re staying at Kamaole Sands, you’ll undoubtedly end up there at some point. (FYI - Kukui Mall has movie theatres.) And, of course, there is plenty of upscale Maui shopping at the resorts. The closest shopping for those at the Maui Beach Hotel would be the recently renovated Maui Mall with a 12-screen movie megaplex. For fresh Maui-grown fruit, vegetables, and flowers, be sure to stop at Ohana Farmers Market at Kahului Shopping Center.
