  • Accountant

    Castle Resorts and Hotels is seeking a Property Accountant for a full-time position located in Honolulu. As the property accountant, you will be responsible for supporting accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, budgeting and generating accurate and timely financial statements.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
    1. Support accounts payable and receivable operations, manage full-cycle payable process.
    2. Prepare analysis, payment schedule, and reconciliations.
    3. Prepares financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the property management system and from various departments.
    4. Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.
    5. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial preparation.
    6. Performs general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel.
    7. Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; reconciling accounts.
    8. Maintains and reconcile all bank and balance sheet accounts.
    9. Ensures compliance with and timely preparation of all required local and state taxes.
    10. Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
    11. Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
    12. Serves as point of contact for property level personnel for accounting subject matters.
    13. Assist with budget planning/reporting, financial auditing, and process improvements.
    14. Occasionally travels to properties to support and train on-site personnel.
    15. Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested.
    Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field.
    2. 2-3+ years of Accounting experience.
    3. Fundamental knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    4. Detailed and deadline-oriented.
    5. Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills.
    6. Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite.

As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for repairing, maintaining and refurbishing the facilities and its furnishings in an independent manner with minimal supervision.
